Start your search from the Library Homepage. Click on "Log in to My Account" to improve your search experience and gain access to advanced features.
Type or copy and paste your search terms in the Search Box. Use quotation marks to search for an exact phrase. Use AND to search for two or more concepts together. Click on Search.
By default, the results are resources that are available from the MacEwan Library. To include items that are not owned by the MacEwan Library but may be available to MacEwan users through Interlibrary Loan (ILL), click on "expand your search". In this example, expanding your search has 99,166 resources compared to the basic search, which has 26,594 results.
You can see that an item is available from another library by the Get it for me from other libraries link beneath the item information. To view details about getting an item from other locations, click on "Get it for me from other libraries".
Details about getting the item from another library are listed under Get it from other locations. To request the item through Interlibrary Loan, select "GET IT" and submit the Request Form. Visit MacEwan Library Interlibrary Loans (ILL) service for full details.
To customize your search experience, click on "Personalize" on the search results page.
To focus the search and provide better result matches, select up to five disciplines by clicking on the checkbox next to each option. Click on "PERSONALIZE IT!" after making your choices.
To adjust how to sort your results, click on the arrow next to Sort by. By default, results are sorted by Relevance. Other sort options include date, title, and author.
Under Refine your search there are many filter options. To view filter options, click on the menu title to expand. Select as many filters as you want by clicking on the checkbox next to each filter. Remove and exclude filters by clicking on the X symbol that appears to the right of each filter. Click on "APPLY FILTERS" after making your choices.
Your filters are listed under Active filters. To make active filters persistent throughout the session, click on "Remember all filters". To remove a filter, click on the X next to the filter. To remove all filters, click on "Reset filters". Removing and resetting filters will expand results and menu options.
