OER Completion Checklist

Before sharing an OER or publishing an open textbook, ensure that your work meets the following standards:

  • Clearly states that it is released under an open license or is in the public domain
  • You have appropriate permissions to use outside sources
  • All sources have been properly cited and attributed
  • Provides users with an editable format e.g., Pressbooks XML, .odt, .doc or .docx 
  • If applicable, you have sought other experts to provide peer-review
